Bangladesh Embassy in Cairo aims to enhance the bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and Egypt. Over the four decades, Bangladesh-Egypt ties embraced different areas including trade and investment, education and culture, exchange of training, employment etc. Egypt is hosting around 4000-5000 Bangladeshi semi-skilled workers majority of whom are employed in the RMG and Textile sectors. The two countries also exchange training programs for government officials to share expertise in the area of telecom, IT, rural development, micro-financing, agriculture and fisheries. The cultural troupes from both countries visit each other and bring people and culture closer. There is increasing people-to-people contacts through visits by businessmen, scholars and tourists.

One of the major responsibility of Bangladesh Embassy Cairo is to look after Consular & welfare matters of all Bangladeshis in Egypt (also for DR Congo & Eritrea as concurrent accreditation).
